My Dear Irene,
On behalf of the International
Baha'i Council and myself, I wish to express to the Marangella family our
deepest sympathy on the passing of Joel Bray Marangella.
Our comfort in sustaining the
loss of his life remains in the memory he created in each of us. He was a
gentleman with the strength to always take the appropriate action, regardless
of the consequences, in matters of the Baha'i Faith and no doubt in his
personal life as well. We will all miss his bigger-than-life presence in this
world.
It was my great honor and
privilege to have met you and he, and other family members, in Albuquerque
several years ago. Words cannot express the emotion I felt as I shook his hand
for the first time that day. From his manner, that moment to me, was the
ultimate confirmation of God's love for each of us.
We have the assurance that his
being will continue to expand and partake of the unseen joy and glories of the
next world, as those who greet him there will no doubt thank him for the untold
accomplishments he provided for his fellow man in this life.
Each of us have been abundantly
blessed by his presence in our lives. We will continue praying for your
comfort, that of the other family members, and for his triumphant journey in
the next world.
With deepest regards,
David Maxwell
Secretary-General International
Baha'i Council
